What is MeaN?

MeaN stands for Modern electronic army Network.

What is MeaN?

MeaN is a finnish multigaming clan MeaNing we play a variety of different games from different genres. MeaN is a laidback, but from time to time semi-competitive clan formed originally around irl friends.

What MeaN does?

Most of MeaN participates in Lanr0x LAN party once or twice a year. It is a twice a year event, but after members have graduated from different schools and started working they have scattered all across Finland making it tougher to get together.

MeaN gets together (at least) once a year annually in a traditional summer meet. Tradition was started as unorganized midsummer festival LAN/get together party nearly all members were able to participate in, but since most of the members couldn't participating Lanr0x lan parties which is held twice a year clan founder and leader N3Rk - in all his wisdom and overall greatness - saw it fit that MeaN should still meet atleast once. Hence annual MeaN summer meat (nope not a typo) was agreed upon.

MeaN awards a dedicated MeaNie member once a year with a "MeaN member of the year"- trophy during the annual summer meet. This tradition was started 2010.

Where is MeaN?

Ylivieska used to be heavily MeaNified with most of the members studying in Ylivieska and rest living within 130km from there. Only a few still remain in Ylivieska and over half of the members living from 130-to-400km from there.

How old is MeaN?

MeaN was found in Raahe at january of 2007.

First member for MeaN?

First/original members (well members around whom N3Rk founded MeaN) N3Rk, Gin and Bore soon joined by Destroyer, Stratoxi and Dolli.

First server for MeaN?

First server used by MeaN was huco.pointclark.net (2007-2008), containing ventrilo 2.1.2 server and webpages. Specs 233mHz AMD, 512mb ram, 10GB hd.

First game for MeaN?

First game played by MeaN was RTS game StarCraft followed by Command&Conquer:Zerohour.

First FPS game played by MeaN was surprisingly Warsow.

First MMO game played by MeaN was Mars2025 or Travian.

First singleplayer game played by MeaN was never played because we play teamgames!

First ladder game was StarCraft:BroodWar game either a 2v2 played by Bore and Gin, Bore and N3Rk or Gin and N3Rk or 3v3 played by N3Rk, Bore and Gin. Results are lost in time, but we most likely lost it.

First competitive tournament game was ETF2L Teamfortress2 Highlander Challenge Played October 10th 2010, 19:30 CEST. A close game ending in loss for MeaN, but over half of the members in opponents team were not actually registered for their team. Resulting "Extra and unverified mercs means a default win for MeaN."

First thing for MeaN?

First teams formed in MeaN were in StarCraft Team MazterZerg led by N3Rk(Z), including Stratoxi(R), Niekku(P) and Destroyer(Z) and Team AntiZerg led by Gin(P) including Bore(T), Dolli(R) and Mixel(T).

First Lan party as a MeaN Lanr0x at November 2007 with N3Rk, Gin, Stelmine, Niekku and Hjalmar.
